Dear Matt,

We want to thank you for the exceptionally professional job you did recently on our remodel. You truly surpassed our highest expectations.

Your initial bid came in below those of several competing builders in terms of both length of time expected and cost. We were surprised that you expected a three to four month job when other bidders estimated six to nine months. We were even more surprised and delighted when the job was beautifully completed in just over two months. Our final cost was exactly in line with your initial bid. In addition, the competing builders asked that we move out of our house, an inconvenience that would have been very disruptive and expensive with our four young children. You were amazingly able to keep us in our home with virtually no disruption to air conditioning, hot water, electricity etc. despite the scope of work being done.

Once the work began, we were so pleased by the courteous, pleasant and helpful attitude displayed by you, your supervisor, Colt Cook and your office manager Nora. Our most minor questions or concerns were always addressed immediately. Even our neighbors were complementary of the courtesy you and your workers displayed.

All in all we couldn’t be more pleased with either the process of the remodel or the final result. You were impressively focused on details and never hesitated to ask your workers to redo a task if the first try didn’t meet your extremely high standards. The result is that we have a beautiful addition and our sanity! All who see it, complement your work and are amazed by how well you were able to blend the new rooms with the existing home.

You were a real pleasure to work with. Please feel free to use us as a reference as we would recommend you without hesitation to anyone planning a new home or a remodel.

How can Jerri and I thank you enough for all that you have done to help us complete the new home that you and your staff have built for us. We have heard so many horror stories in the past about building homes, and we have even experienced a bad situation with one Horseshoe Bay builder. After interviewing almost all of the home builders in the Horseshoe Bay area, and the new owners of those homes, we concluded that with all the positive comments we were receiving about you and your company, we couldn't go wrong.

Little did I know that before the end of the construction of our home, I would experience a near fatal heart attack. With your help, my wife, Jerri, was able to finish the house and we could not be more pleased with the results. Jerri was able to look after me while you, Earl, and the rest of your crew built as perfect a home as I have ever been involved with. You and Earl were more than willing to help in work with the putting green. I could have been a nightmare but, with your help, it all went through without a hitch.

Dear Matt & Clarissa,

In my thirty two-year career as an engineer, project manager and manufacturing Plant Manager, I had an opportunity to work with many various contractors. I've seen some very good and some very poor ones. In my business life, I developed pretty high standards and expectations, and do not believe in writing letters to tell someone they did what was expected. But, when a business or a person performs in an exceptional manner and sets new standards, they deserve to hear that their performance was noticed, appreciated, and created a top quality home.

When Laura and I began discussions with you in November, it was because we had seen several of your homes and felt you put the kind of quality in your work we expected and wanted. We were convinced you were the best quality builder we had seen in Horseshoe Bay. Before we decided to sign a contract with you, I wanted to also have a feeling for your honesty and integrity, and commitment to meeting schedule. As we discussed things with you, and got a price on the home we wanted built, we came to know you both as very genuine and honest people that we believed we could enjoy doing business with. I reviewed the architects drawings after you did and saw nothing in your markups that cut cost at the expense of quality, but saw several significant and numerous smaller comments that would add to your cost (fixed price contract) but would improve the integrity and quality of the house. I knew then that we had chosen the right contractor.

There are many stories and tales of the trails and tribulations of having a house built, generally about how traumatic and frustrating an experience it can be. In fact, having built a couple of houses previously, I used to tell people it was something everybody should do once, but nobody should have to do twice.

Well, I have a new story to tell after having MH Builders build us a new home. This story is about how smooth things went, and how pleasant an experience it was. It is about how schedules can be, and are met. It's how quality is not driven by the owner of the home, but is driven by the builder's high personal standards and pride in workmanship. It's about how a builder finds and corrects problems I would not have found. It is about how you can end up not hating, but having a feeling of friendship and admiration about your builder. This is a story with a very happy ending.

You built our "Dream Home" which we intend to live in for a long time. You not only built it to meet our expectations, but the end result exceeds our expectations and is something we are very proud of, as I know you are. Your commitment and knowledge resulted in an extremely well built first quality home, and your ideas and input allowed us to make choices that we would not have thought of on our own, so that the home even better meets our needs.

As a builder, you are tops in our book; as people, you are our friends and have our respect and admiration. We wish you the very best in your future business and family life. We hope to see you around HSB for a long time, building other people dreams.

Dear Matt,
We have now been in our new home for more than a year and are more pleased each day with our decision to live in Horseshoe Bay and the selection of you as our builder.
Of all the builders we interviewed, you were the one who took the time, pre-selection, to accompany us to the “short list” of building sites and give your comments about “quality of location and difficult of building. Your presentation was professional and direct. Your recommendations and assistance to get us from “design” to final plans were excellent and resulted in plans which required almost no change during construction.
Sincer we lived in Chicago during construction and were not able to make frequent site visits/inspections, we appreciated the frequent and timely phone/fax/e-mail correspondence with progress reports, photographs and questions. We believe this process was a critical factor in completion of our home in less than six months. We were impressed with the quality of subcontractors used and with the “influence” your Superintendent had on the coordination of their activities. We believe the frequent communication and your relationship with subcontractors were key to progression from pouring foundation in August to completion and occupancy in January.
Follow up on “punch list” items, all minor, was timely and complete.
In summary, we are very happy with our home and would not hesitate to select you as our builder should we ever decided to build again.

Dear Matt,
We wanted to express to you our gratitude and let you know how thrilled we are with our dream home.
The real estate agent who sold us the property asked as we were walking into the house “Do you want to stay?” We knew we had a major fixer upper that had among other things crooked walls, ceilings and out of plumb corners and was hopelessly lost in the 70’s. It took a good qualified general contractor to pull it all off. It’s never easy doing things long distance and we had a certain amount of trepidation coming into a new area and not knowing what we could expect. We were so pleased to work with a company that made the project come in within our budget range (which allowed us to do more renovations,) and you finished on time. (both very desirable these days)
I can’t say enough good things about your superintendent Mike Goldsborough who kept us informed step by step throughout the total turn key renovations. Mike was able to visualize what we wanted from our 8 _ x 11” drawings, details and lists, and bring together the right people and materials to make it all happen. I’m sure that his attention to detail was what kept the job running so smoothly and we feel that your people and your subs are first rate.
You may invite any of your prospects over to our house to see how a great major renovation turned out. Soon I will make up a photo book of “before and after” shots for you guys to use for your file. Thank you for all your efforts and “follow through”, it was fun.
